I Have Created a Momster!
I have finally done it! I have been saying I was going to start a blog for years now. If you are reading this, thanks for joining me on my new endeavor. I am sure you are wondering about this blog’s name though. What is a Momster?
Well, the story goes like this. It was a typical rush out the door with three kids trying to make it to work on time type of morning. It was the first day ever of summer camp for LK (my oldest). Both him and I were so nervous and excited! Well, at least until we got there and they wouldn’t allow my son’s epipen to stay at camp with him. Apparently we were missing a sheet from the doctor. What to do? The twins were dropped off at their daycare so, I said ya know what bud? Let’s go to work and see mom’s new office ( I had just started a new job a few months prior). Of course, I was super annoyed but what else could I do? At this point there was no way I could stop for coffee which just made the morning that much better.
We get to my work and I gave him a quick tour before heading to my office. I gave him stuff to draw with as I set to work. It was about midmorning, when my son holds up a drawing and exclaims excitedly “Mom, look”! I turn from my computer screen and I say “Really cool monster buddy”! and he replied “That’s not a monster, that’s you before coffee”!
Ohhhhhh…. Ok, so I look like Medusa before coffee. Thanks kiddo! I know my son wasn’t actually calling me a monster, his drawing talents just hadn’t developed yet. But it did allow me to have one of those self-reflect type moments. I have changed jobs twice since then and this picture was hung at my desk to remind me of that morning and that each day is an opportunity to be better than I was the day before.
So, now that you have the backstory, the name for The Blessed Momster came to me because I wanted to provide encouragement for those days when you feel like you didn’t quite hit the mark and remind you the blessings of waking to a new day. I hope I can accomplish this through sharing my own everyday chaos.
Have a Blessed Day!
